Leave the Alias blank – when you save the item this will be filled out automatically.
Every mainpage has to belong to a Section and a Category – choose Content as the Section and Main Pages as the category. Here you also have the button to Publish or not Publish the article.
Use the editor to type in the text of the page. The editor has all the usual buttons you will find on an editor to make the text bold or underlines – number lists – unordered lists etc etc

You will notice that nearly everything you work on has the Save button in the same place so look out for it on other pages when editing things.
IMPORTANT! The site has a cache system to help speed up the site and save bandwidth – what does this mean to me? Well when you are editing pages and applying or saving them the changes might not appear right away in the front pages of the site. How to force the changes to happen?
Above the Save and Apply buttons and in the very top right hand corner there is a green icon labelled Clear Cache – hit that button and a green notice should come up at the top of the page.
Now go back to the front part of the site and refresh the page and hopefully your changes have been made.
Choose a place in the text where the image should appear.
Click the green add image icon on the left of the bottom row of editor buttons.
A new window will pop up with the image manager
On the left you have the different folders where the images live – in the folder blogimages you will find all the icons used on the old site and a few more – in the teamicons folder you will find the icons for the teams.
Clicking on a folder will show you a list of images in that folder in the middle panel of the image manager.
Clicking on an image name in the middle panel will bring up the image for you to see in the right hand panel.
Double click on the image and notice that the URL box at the top of the window gets filled out as well as the name of the image.
To make text wrap around the image you can use the alignment command. You can select for instance to float the image to the left. Next you need add a little space between the image and the text. If the image is on the left we will need to make 5pixels margin on the right and 5 pixels on the underside of the image. So you would enter 5 in the right box and 5 in the bottom box. You can see a preview of what will happen in the panel on the top right.
To upload an image you the green upload button. IMPORTANT! When uploading images please keep the images in the correct folder. Look at the folders on the left window first and see if an approriate folder already exists by pressing the folder button next to the upload button. For instance – you are adding a new image into an article about the B1 – look for a folder for B1 – if none exists then make a new one and upload your image into that folder.
When everything is correct you press the Insert button on the bottom of the window.
First of all write the text that you want to link in the editor.
Use your mouse to highlight the text it should be a different colour.
Press the Link button on the editor on the bottom line next door to the image manager.
This will not bring up the link manager.
Here you can choose to insert a link to another website – here you just paste the link into the URL box at the top. At the bottom of the manager look for the Window box – choose open in a new tab.
Press insert and the link is now made.
In the link manager there is a list of ways to add links – for linking to a main page in the site you choose articles then Main pages – then here you will get a list of all the main pages – click on one to make the link and press insert and the link is made.
To link to a team blog choose K2 items from the menu then you can see all the blog categories – click on a category to see all the items in that category.
First of all write the text that you want to link in the editor.
Use your mouse to highlight the text it should be a different colour.
Press the Link button on the editor on the bottom line next door to the image manager.
This will not bring up the link manager.
Click on the email link on the top right then insert the email address in the boxes that pop up.
When finished press insert to make the link.
First of all click on the icon in the main admin panel.
Next fill in the Title of the item - please not DO NOT include special characters such as ! or : or , ONLY normal text characters for the title please.
Leave the Alias field blank.
Next choose a category for the item - in this case it would be Algemeen Nieuws.
At the bottom of the editor window you can see a button called Algemeen Niews - press the button and it will load the news template. Now you should see an example news item with some dummy text and a picture.
Make sure that this button is pressed - it will show code outlines in the editor - you should be able to see dotted lines around the text with a "p" on the left - this is the code for a standard paragraph of text.
To change the dummy text for your real text - highlight all of the text with your mouse by clicking on the start of the words and hold your mouse button down and drag it to the right and make sure it is all blue, when you have all the highlighted you can then start typing your text.
Pasting text from another program. The text needs to be "clean" - what does this mean? text editors such as Word will add in extra code behind the text that you cannot see and when you paste it into the editor it can mess up the code so we have to look after this. So what is the best way to do this? On the last line of the editor there are now three new buttons. To paste into the editor use the last icon (the brown one) and click on the arrow next to it. Choose Paste as Plain text and a new window comes up, here you can paste from word etc and it will hopefully take out all of the extra formatting in the text leaving nice clean plain text in the editor.
Click on the image then click on the image manager button.
You now have a new window showing all the options for images.
On the left you see a list of folders - choose Blog images for the icons used in news items.
In the middle you can see a list of files in that folder. Clicking on a file in this panel will load up a preview on the right.
You can upload a new picture into the folder by pressing the upload button and following the instructions - you can drag and drop an image from your file explorer or use the browse button to find the picture on your pc and upload it.
Make sure the Alignment of the picture is set to left and that there is a Margin of at least 5 on the right and on the bottom - what is this? look at the top right preview panel and you will see a preview of how the image will look with text around it, without the image aligned left the text will be directly under the image, by using the align and margin the text wil flow around the image in a nice way.
When everything is done you can press Toepassen on the top right corner - the green tick. What this does is save the item but keeps the editor window open if you need to make changes once you have seen the item on the front of the site.
AFter pressing Toepassen press Cache opschonen to clean the cache system.
Now visit the homepage of the site in a new browser tab. Press F5 to refresh the page - you should now see the item on the top of the homepage - if not go back to the editor and press Cache opschonen again.
If you need to make any changes go back to the editor make the changes, press Toepassen and Cache opschonen then refresh the page again.
When everything is good press Opslaan to permantly save the item.
First of all click on the Verslagen en Blogs icon in the main admin panel.
Next fill in the Title of the item - please not DO NOT include special characters such as ! or : or , ONLY normal text characters for the title please. Try to make sure the team name is in the title - example - D4 Kort maar krachtig not Kort maar krachtig.
Leave the Alias field blank.
Next choose a category for the item - in this case it would be Blog - Team XXX where team Xxx= the name of the team from the verslagen.
Underneath the title and Alias there is a Tags box - type a v for verslagen here - it will autocomplete the word - click on it and the item is now tagged with Verslagen.
At the bottom of the editor window you can see a button called Verslagen Thuis and Verslagen Uit - press the button that is needed and it will load the template. Now you should see an example verslagen loaded into the editor.
Make sure that this button is pressed - it will show code outlines in the editor - you should be able to see dotted lines around the text with a "p" on the left - this is the code for a standard paragraph of text.
First of all click on a team icon to change it using the image manager. The folder for verslagen is Teamicons and in that folder you will see all the Altius teams logos, also in that folder is a fodler called Tegenstanders - this is the folder with all the other clubs icons.
Select the icon you need then click update and the new icon should be placed. When both are done then it is time to change the score.
To make the text BIG there is some code around the letters so please be careful here! Change the score one letter at a time - highlight the first letter and type your score then hightlight the other one and do the same. If you highlight the whole 5:1 and type over it it will not be big again and look odd.
Above the team icons line and below them are some blank paragraphs - you should see the outline of them in the editor with a little p on the left.
These are for spacing and should not be removed - if you do the text will flow over the top of the images and make it unredable so be careful to leave them in place.
Publishing date - very important for the verslagen! what I want is that the verslagen publishing date matches that of the game played NOT when we recieve it.
When everything looks good in the editor please make SURE that the item is set to UNPUBLISHED - you can use the switch above the category chooser to do this.
Now that the item is set to unpublished you can now save the item with the save button on the top right corner.
Now email
